Coming Soon: The New A3 Body Armor Plate

A3 Body Armor Plate

The Armored Republic has long held that each material used in armor manufacturing has its own strengths and weaknesses. For that reason, rather than focusing on mere threat levels, our new matrix identifies the material used (Soft, Polyethylene, Alloy, Ceramic) as the primary factor you should consider when purchasing a new plate.

Alloy armor, which most commonly uses steel as its base material, is best for its high durability when shot and resistance to backface deformation, as well as its low cost. Meanwhile, polyethylene armor offers a much lighter weight. Historically, these benefits have been a binary decision: One or the other. Not anymore.

To capture the benefits of both armor types, the Armored Republic has created the brand new A3: A plate crafted with the patent-pending alloy composite design, which joins a single plate of steel alloy, fixed in front as the strike face, with a polyethylene backer to catch the round. Get the protective resilience of steel alloys with extremely lightweight polyethylene to support it for less than 5 pounds.

Coming soon: the plate offered by itself, as a pair with a $99 discount, or as a bundle where you can receive a free Invictus plate carrier to hold your new A3 plates.

While many in the industry focus only on one or two materials, we are focused on innovating in all four categories. The A3 stands at the forefront of that innovation as a piece of body armor that’s stronger, lighter, and cheaper than any monolithic alloy or polyethylene plate by itself.
