How to Use an Armored Backpack

Body armor is a compromise between price, comfort, profile, and protection. The best armor in the world is useless if it's sitting in your closet.

But anyone who has worn armor before, whether as a job or an infrequent thing, knows it can be a pain to put on and remove. And if you live some place where it's warm or humid, it becomes uncomfortable.

On top of these things, there are situations where wearing armor just doesn't make sense. Children will outgrow it quickly, it isn't likely to be discreet and getting them to wear it would likely be a struggle.

For these and other reasons, discreet armor products are making their way into mainstream ownership. Having an armored backpack or briefcase/messenger bag allows the user to be discreet, have protection with them in the course of their day by having something they would normally have anyway.

Wearing an armored backpack just as you would any other backpack is the easiest way to employ it. Make sure to wear it as high as you can, to ensure your vital organs are covered by the armor panel.

You can also flip the pack around and wear it on the front of your body, with the same wearing guidelines as standard use.

The third way to use an armored backpack is as a shield. This allows you to place the armor in front of you and cover your face/head. Just remember that doing so could expose other portions of your body...but all armor is a compromise.
