Different Types of AR500 Armor Body Armor - Level III, IIIA, Hard, & Soft

AR500 Armor offers a wide range of body armor solutions, which vary in threat level and use different technology.

AR500 Armor Level III rifle rated armor is “hard armor” and capable of stopping threats up to 7.62x51 at 2,780 feet per second. Hard body armor is non-flexible, and is offered in either flat or curved (formed) configuration. Our curved models offer improved ergonomics and increased comfort while wearing for longer durations, and have been designed to be worn as a front or back plate.

AR500 Armor also offers level IIIA pistol rated body armor, in both hard and soft form. Level IIIA Hard Armor features our ergonomic curve, which improves comfort and concealment. AR500 Armor Hard Level IIIA armor is stab-proof, ultra-thin, and weighs in at only 4.0lb’s.

AR500 Armor Soft Body Armor utilizes new Carbon Nanotube Technology allowing us to keep an 11” x 14” IIIA rated panel at just 1lb. The benefit to soft armor is increased flexibility over hard armor, which further improves comfort and concealment.

All AR500 Armor Body Amor is independently tested to NIJ standards and uses the highest quality materials and quality control, and is manufactured in house, in the USA!

Level III AR500 Armor Body Armor is capable of defeating Rifles Calibers up to 7.62x51 (Military M80 Ball) / .308 Winchester at velocities up to 2,780 feet per second. This includes lesser rounds traveling under 2,780 feet per second such as 7.62x39 (AK47), 5.56 62gr (AR15), .223 62gr (AR15), and all lesser rifle and pistol calibers.

Level IIIA Soft & Hard AR500 Armor Body Armor is capable of defeating Pistol Calibers up to .357 Sig, and .44 Magnum SJHP at velocities up to 1,430 feet per second. This includes all lesser pistol calibers such as .22lr, .380 ACP, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, 10mm, and .357 Magnum.
