The Testudo holds armor plates and does so very well. The cummerbund keeps the weight distributed evenly across your body. The padding reinforces the space between you and the plate.
The “Slick Side” variant of the Testudo lacks the Velcro loop on the PALS webbing that comes with the standard Testudo. However, it remains just as compatible with Malice Clip MOLLE attachment methods.

Named after Ancient Rome’s Testudo formation, this carrier is distinguished by its cummerbund, which wraps around the lower part of your torso to give you a comfortable & well-distributed armor platform; the same way shoelaces make for a better shoe.
The Testudo Gen 2.0 Plate Carrier is designed to maximize coverage and be able to adjust to a perfect fit for the wearer. It features a fully adjustable cummerbund and shoulder straps, making it more than a “one-size-fits-all” solution. It also has plenty of PALS webbing for attaching your MOLLE-compatible pouches, holsters, and accessories. These carriers are made in the "Slick Side" version. They feature Velcro loop on the front for patches and further customization, while the front admin and kangaroo pockets have webbing rather than loop; ready and able to accommodate module attachments via the PALS webbing.
Available as an upgrade, the curved Heritage Plate is distinguished by its durability in all circumstances and edge-to-edge protective capabilities. It has been independently tested in accordance with NIJ 0101.06 threat levels through Oregon Ballistics (OBL), and H.P. White Laboratories. This means it is rated to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,780 FPS, and special threat tested to stop 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,780 FPS.
