The Testudo Lite Plate Carrier is a “Lite” version of the Testudo Gen 2 insofar as it forgoes the mesh padding from the Gen 2. Nonetheless, it provides the full benefit of the tactical cummerbund and PALS webbing. These benefits are twofold: First, it makes the fit customizable to exactly your size and shape, which prevents chafing and makes for an easier time persevering throughout the day. Second, the cummerbund can be equipped with side plates for greater coverage.

While the Testudo Lite cuts weight, it still is ready with its PALS webbing to accommodate your MOLLE-compatible pouches, holsters, and accessories. The weight change comes from cutting the Gen 2’s 3D mesh, Velcro on the PALS webbing, and side waist straps and buckles (the cummerbund renders these unnecessary).

The Testudo Lite, like the Gen 2, also accommodates both 10”x12” or 11”x14” body armor of any type; its size remains unchanged and can tightly fit any medium-sized body type or bigger.

Our Heritage Plate was the start of the civilian armor industry ten years ago, distinguished by its robust protection and edge-to-edge protective capabilities. It has been independently tested in accordance with NIJ 0101.06 threat levels through Oregon Ballistics (OBL), and H.P. White Laboratories. This means it is rated to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,780 FPS, and special threat tested to stop 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,780 FPS. It is also upgraded to an ergonomic multi-curve shape.

The included Trauma Pads, which are worn behind these plates, will significantly reduce a bullet’s impact and prevent backface deformation energy.
