The Testudo Lite is nearly identical to the Testudo Gen 2, just lacking its extra mesh padding. The cummerbund fits the carrier closely around your body; more than a one-size-fits-all solution. This distributes weight across your torso more evenly to lighten the load on your shoulders. It is adjustable between male T-shirt sizes Medium to XXXL.
The Heritage Plate is an Alloy composite known for being tough against bullets and everything else. Drop it on concrete without it cracking. Get hit several times in a tight group and still be standing.
This plate has independently tested in accordance with NIJ 0101.06 threat levels through Oregon Ballistics (OBL), and H.P. White Laboratories. This means it is rated to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,780 FPS. Our Heritage Plates take protection a step further, though, and are also special-threat tested to stop 5.56 M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,780 FPS.
The downside of the Heritage Plate is its weight. If you want to start out with even better protection and lighter weight, the A2 Plate stops .308, M855, and M193 while being just 5.5 pounds.
For both armor types, each plate’s FragLock coating™ keeps a bullet’s fragments from hitting you after impact, with the base coat capturing or deflecting those fragments away.
