A full-sized carrier like the Testudo is ideal for most missions at hand, but other times, special mission requirements force you to have a carrier like the Invictus Gen 1 plate carrier from Armored Republic that is not only tough as nails but also a nimble and low-profile for vehicle-based and CQB operations. The Invictus Gen 1 has been jump-tested by US Special Operations personnel, where it demonstrated its ability to provide high mobility without sacrificing protection and comfort for the wearer. It accepts all 10? x 12? plates and is laser-cut from laminated Nylon. The Hypalon? shoulder straps and pull tabs, meanwhile, are low profile and secure. Cut from the same laminated Nylon, the cummerbund gives you a customized fit and can also accommodate our padded side plate pouches. Finally, both the plate carrier and cummerbund feature generous PALS webbing for all MOLLE-compatible pouches and accessories – giving you extra space to let you keep extra magazines, a medical kit, or a general access pouch close at hand. - What does level 3 body armor protect against? The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) protection rating for level 3 body armor is 6x shots of 7.62x51mm @ 2,780 FPS from 51′ away. Some level III plates are considered special threat plates in that in addition to this they will address other common threats. For example, our level 3 Heritage Plate will stop 5.56×45 M855 “green tips” @ 2,750 FPS from a 16″ barrel, while our P2 plates will stop 5.56×45 M193 Ball @ 3,200 FPS.
- The Multi-Rifle Magazine Pouches from Armored Republic accommodate all common rifle magazines in a single, double, or triple magazine pouch, and are capable of accommodating magazines such as 5.56×45 (.223), 7.62×39 AK, or 7.62×51 NATO (.308 Winchester).Secure yet accessible magazine storageEach section can accommodate up to two small rifle magazines or one large rifle magazine.
