A full-sized carrier like the Testudo is ideal for most missions at hand, but other times, special mission requirements force you to have a carrier like theĀ Invictus Gen 1 plate carrierĀ from Armored Republic that is not only tough as nails but also a nimble and low-profile for vehicle-based and CQB operations. The Invictus Gen 1 has been jump-tested by US Special Operations personnel, where it demonstrated its ability to provide high mobility without sacrificing protection and comfort for the wearer. It accepts all 10? x 12? plates and is laser-cut from laminated Nylon. The Hypalon? shoulder straps and pull tabs, meanwhile, are low profile and secure. Cut from the same laminated Nylon, the cummerbund gives you a customized fit and can also accommodate ourĀ padded side plate pouches. Finally, both the plate carrier and cummerbund feature generous PALS webbing for all MOLLE-compatible pouches and accessories ā giving you extra space to let you keep extra magazines, a medical kit, or a general access pouch close at hand.

Multi-Hit Capability
Tested to go above and beyond NIJ level 3 standards, the curved, shooters cut A2 armor plate is level 3+ rated to defeat all pistols and most rifle ammunition, including 5.56Ć45 M193, 5.56Ć45 M855/SS109 at 3,000 FPS as well as AK-47 rounds (7.62Ć39) and .308 (7.62Ć51 M80 NATO Ball) at 2,850 FPS. Also, thanks to the custom steel alloy blend, it is able to protect against several hits without shattering or breaking like ceramic or polyethylene would. It also provides the same protection on the edges as it does in the center, giving you true edge-to-edge coverage.
Innovative FragLockā¢ Coating
TheĀ FragLockā¢ Coating, available in both Base Coat and Build-Up Coat versions, is a feature of Armored Republic plates that protects both the user and the plate itself. The Build-Up Coat protects the user by helping capture fragmentation (a bulletās broken apart pieces after impact). The Base Coat seals the armor plate from sweat and other contaminants that would compromise the steel core. With either the Build-Up or Base Coat of FragLockā¢, this plate has a shelf-life of twenty years and requires no maintenance.
