The Heritage plates are Level III certified and tested to defeat: 7.62×51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at 2,750 FPS, 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at 2,750 FPS, 7.62×39 (AK-47), and all common pistol calibers including .44 Magnum. These plates have been independently verified at Oregon Ballistics and H.P. White Laboratories.
Heritage plates are made from AR500 steel – a specific type of abrasion-resistant steel with a Brinell hardness of 500. Our Heritage line uses the same ballistic steel core but includes our exclusive FragLock coating system and Advanced Shooter’s Cut design. They meet all NIJ 0101.06 Level III standards and have passed the same rigorous testing protocols.
