The Testudo is designed for both coverage and comfort. For coverage, the Testudo Gen 2 is able to hold the biggest size the industry offers (11”x14”) as well as the more common 10”x12”. Its cummerbund also accommodates 6x6 and 6x8 side plates for protection facing all directions. For comfort, generous padding prevents chafing and the full adjustability of the cummerbund let you choose the ideal fit. This adjustability makes the Testudo more than a “one-size-fits-all” solution since the size itself can be changed to best suit you.

The Testudo also has plenty of PALS webbing for attaching  MOLLE-compatible pouches, holsters, and accessories. On the PALS is an application of Velcro, offering superior versatility for placement of medical, moto, or other patches or gear.

Made of a steel-alloy blend and a multi-hit special threat resistance, the multi-curve A1 body armor provides Level III+ protection by stopping Special-Threat Green Tip Rounds, M80 Ball, as well as lesser (slower/lesser penetration) threats with multi-hit capability. This plate has a durable FragLock™ base coating, which gives both fragmentation protection and seals the plate to ensure its 20-year shelf life. The included Trauma Pads are worn behind the steel plates to reduce the blunt-force impact. 

The Multi-Caliber Rifle Magazine Pouch (triple) accommodates all common rifle magazines and is capable of accommodating magazines such as 5.56x45 (.223), 7.62x39 AK, or 7.62x51 NATO (.308 Winchester). The pouch is constructed from genuine 500D Cordura Nylon with retention flaps that feature an easy-to-grip Hypalon® pull tab. The removable retention strap allows you to adjust magazine capacity and size for the best fit, or even remove it entirely to run an open-top configuration. The pouch also includes a matching pair of MALICE CLIPS® to attach to your MOLLE-compatible platform.

Finally, the Radio Pouch is an adjustable pouch for handheld communication devices, featuring elastic sides, a velcro bottom closure and a tie-adjustable shock-cord retention band. It fits a wide range of radios on the market and is designed to allow quick MBITR battery change without affecting any PTT lead/antenna wiring on the carrier. 500D Cordura makes up the majority of the pouch, a material we favor for its strength and balance of firmness and flexibility. Velcro keeps it secured the way you configure it.
