P2 Armor Special

The P2 Plates Bundle gives you a high-tech upgrade to your armor setup so you can equip yourself with the lightest hard armor type on the market. The P2, due to its low weight (3.5 pounds) and buoyant qualities, provides high-grade protection that won’t fatigue you when you’re active and won’t endanger you when you’re near water. Tested independently to NIJ Level III standards, this polyethylene plate is capable of stopping the 7.62x51 M80 Ball at 2780 FPS. It has also been tested to stop some special threats; it will defeat 5.56x45 M193 at 3150 FPS and 7.62x39 AK-47 at 2380 FPS.

The primary benefit of the P2, however, is its weight: Only PE hard armor can provide rifle-rated protection at under four pounds. The greater endurance this allows makes polyethylene a popular choice for many military personnel, law enforcement officers, and civilians.

Polyethylene stops threats by “capturing” the bullet in its material. The Polyethylene front softens upon first being impacted by the bullet, allowing it to enter the material where it is then stopped by the remaining unmelted fibers within the plate. As the bullet slows down, the polyethylene then rehardens. Because of its unique way of stopping bullets, polyethylene is able to take multiple hits without shattering.

As with our other hard armor options, the P2 is also sprayed with our FragLock™ solution to seal it from the elements.

The Testudo Lite, available as an upgrade for just $99, is a full-size 500D Cordura plate carrier that will fit a range of users- adjustable via cummerbund between T-shirt sizes Medium to XXXL. The design is identical to the Testudo Gen 2 with the exception of the extra mesh padding, which is absent in the Lite version.
