Eleven years ago, Armored Republic helped build the civilian market by removing the barrier of high costs with the introduction of steel armor: a cost-effective rifle-rated plate that anyone could afford: plates under $100 were unheard of before then, as was the solution to the often-discussed “fragmentation” problem for steel, the FragLock™ coating in base or Build-Up form.
The Heritage is capable of protecting against several direct hits while still being less bulky than competing materials. It also has been independently tested in accordance with NIJ 0101.06 threat levels through Oregon Ballistics (OBL), and H.P. White Laboratories. This means it is rated to stop 7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball (.308 Winchester) at a velocity of up to 2,780 FPS, and special threat tested to stop 5.56mm M855/SS109 (Green Tip) at a velocity of 2,780 FPS.
This armor also comes in a more ergonomic Multi-Curve Shape created by putting the steel under several different angles in a press brake.
