Banshee Plate Carrier
- Product Review (submitted on October 11, 2015):
Very excellent plate carrier, but it needs some accessories to make it a full-time "professional" plate carrier. I am not military or law enforcement, however I do wear this plate carrier almost every day and I train with it weekly for many hours. The first carrier I received was sadly defective and developed a rip running across the top of the kangaroo pouch. I returned the plate carrier for no charge and AR500 gave me a new one promptly.
Now, I have had this new only for about two months versus the old which I had for about 5 so hopefully we don't have the same rip occur. That however is why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. There are a couple other things to know about this carrier: It is a small framed carrier, meaning it fits smaller/thin women or men (like me) very well, however you sacrifice space on your kit due to it being a smaller carrier. And finally the main thing to know is that the shoulder straps that come stock with the plate carrier are very uncomfortable if you are wearing 30 lbs or more of steel armor and mags for more than 2 hours. So, what is required is the Shellback Tactical Banshee shoulder pads. these pads are not cheap at $40, but they make this plate carrier into a legit operational piece that you can run for many hours. The kangaroo pouch also does not work very well for fitting AK mags though I have mine rigged up quite well, but it took some work and figgitting with it. So, for the price, get it! But, know that for a "serious" kit you need to spend extra money. And you HAVE to make sure that it is fitting nice and high on your body or else it will slide around and make that weight even harder to manage. That's it!
