AR500 Armor® Level III Patented Advanced Shooters Cut (ASC) 10" x 12"
- Product Review (submitted on February 9, 2013):
I ordered one plate to play with. I shot 7.62x54R (90% sure it was light ball), 7.62x39 (pretty sure it was wolf definitely fmj), and 5.45x39 (russian surplus) all at about 10 yards. One round apiece.
5.45x39 resulted in noticeable paint chipping, but very minimal actual denting to the plate itself. No changes to the backside of the plate. No penetration.
7.62x39 resulted again in very obvious paint chipping and slightly more denting than the 5.45. No changes to the backside of the plate. No penetration.
7.62x54R resulted in a bigger impact mark as far as paint chipping goes. The dent was quite noticeable and is the only round that appears to have penetrated deeper than the outer steel. Noticeable dent on backside of armor. No penetration.
