The A2 plate design takes advantage of steel’s edge-to-edge protection to make a cut that protects your vitals while trimming as much weight as possible: Multi-hit capable, edge-to-edge coverage, level III+ tested and lighter than even many ceramic plates at 5.5 pounds. This armor is rated to defeat all pistols and most rifle ammunition, including 5.56x45 M193, 5.56x45 M855/SS109 at 3,000 FPS as well as AK-47 rounds (7.62x39) and .308 (7.62x51 M80 NATO Ball) at 2,850 FPS. The FragLock Base Coat seals the armor from contaminants and sweat that would compromise the steel core. This A2 body armor is pending NIJ .06 certification.
Upgrade your armor to our Build-Up coating which provides additional protection to the user by helping capture fragmentation (a bullet’s broken apart pieces after impact).
The included two pairs of Trauma Pads help mitigate blunt impact and prevent backface deformation, one placed right behind each steel plate.
