Armor Test Videos

We put our AR500 Armor Trauma Plates to the test. Literally. We take our body armor and test against a variety calibers and bullet types from Rifles, Pistols, and Shotguns ranging from 100 yards to 10 yards.

We test our armor with a variety of calibers in factory loads at 15 yards including - .22lr, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, 10mm, 44 magnum, .223, 5.56 (M193 and M855 Penetrator), 7.62x39, .308, and 12 Gauge 1oz High Brass Slug and 00 Buckshot.

AR500 Armor Vs. AK47 7.62x39 at 10 yards

Multiple rounds from a Bulgarian AK47 in 7.62x39 with FMJ's at only 10 yards! Tested on 5/18/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability.

Firearms and ammunition:

Bulgarian AK47 16" Barrel - 154gr 7.62x39

Results: AR500 Armor plate suffered small divots, no dents or penetration.

AR500 Armor Vs. .308 at 10 yards

AR500 Armor Plate Vs. .308 M14 EBR at only 10 yards! Tested on 5/18/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability.

Firearms and ammunition:

Springfield M14 - EBR 22" Barrel - 180gr .308 Winchester

Results: AR500 Armor plate suffered small dent, no penetration.

AR500 Armor Vs. 12 Gauge 3" 00 Buckshot at 10 yards

AR500 Armor Plate. 12 Gauge 3" 00 Buckshot at 30 yards. Tested on 5/18/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability.

Firearms and ammunition:

Saiga 12 - 22" Barrel -- 12 Gauge 3" 00 Buckshot

Results: AR500 Armor plate suffered small divots only, no penetration or dents.

AR500 Armor Vs. 12 Gauge 3" 1oz Slug at 10 yards

Firearms and ammunition: Saiga 12 12 gauge 3" 1oz Sabot Slug

Results: AR500 Armor plate suffered dent, but no penetration.

AR500 Armor Vs. 12 Gauge 3" 1oz Slug at 30 yards

AR500 Armor Plate. 12 Gauge Winchester Super X 3" 1oz Sabot Slugs at 30 yards. Tested on 5/18/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability. Can't say we didn't have fun on this test =)!!

AR500 Armor Vs. .308 and 7.62x39 at 50 yards

AR500 Armor Plate. .308 and 7.62x39 at 50 yards. Tested on 5/18/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability.

AR500 Armor and Carrier Vs. 7.62x29 and 5.56 at 30 yards

After 44 test rounds from 10 yards to 100 yards the plate carrier was on its last limb. We finished it off with Rifle Caliber rounds at 30 yards, still no penetration. Tested on 5/14/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability.

AR500 Armor Plate takes rounds from a variety of pistol calibers at 10 yards. Tested on 5/14/12 -- All tests are with the same AR500 plate demonstrating Multi-Hit capability.
